Brief History of Falasca Mechanical and Daniel S. Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Inc.

Daniel Falasca Sr. founded Daniel S. Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Inc. in 1969. Mr. Falasca built the company from the ground up, and still remains very active in the daily operations of the company as president. Over the years, Falasca Mechanical has gone through considerable changes in both size and strength. In 1982, the company moved from a small office in Landisville, NJ to a larger facility in Vineland’s Industrial Park. Our current facility continues to expand to meet our customers’ growing needs. The most recent additions have occurred in the summer of 2000.

After receiving his New Jersey Master Plumbers License at the inception of his company, Mr. Falasca has since been licensed in the state of Delaware, along with becoming a licensed Plumber Inspector for the State of New Jersey. Although Mr. Falasca has since semi-retired, he continues to estimate and stay involved in the business. Mr. Falasca has accumulated a lifetime of experience in the plumbing industry and uses his knowledge to benefit those who contract his company’s services.

Daniel Falasca Jr., who graduated from Villanova University with degrees in Commerce and Finance. Daniel Falasca Jr. brings with him new knowledge of modern management techniques and applications. He, like his father, has multiple plumbing licenses (New Jersey and Pennsylvania).  He is involved in the day-to-day operations of Falasca Mechanical Inc, along with accounting and supervision of fieldwork.  Daniel Falasca Jr. formed Falasca Mechanical, Inc. in 1998.

Falasca Mechanical Inc. has since grown into the largest HVAC and plumbing contractor in South Jersey and is one of the largest in the tri-state area.  Falasca Mechanical Inc, in addition to the Vineland location, owns a Fabrication Shop on the adjoining property, and recently opened a second office in Atlantic City.  The Atlantic City office handles the majority of the company business on the island along with the surrounding areas, but more importantly, gives Falasca Mechanical a permanent presence in the city.

Accounting

Falasca Mechanical has recently upgraded to a new accounting management system.  Using a pair of AS400 servers and windows based servers, Falasca Mechanical has cost reporting, managed payroll, invoice management and control, and system generated AIA billing at its fingertips.  The accounting department handles everything from insurance and bonding, to human resources.  Falasca Mechanical's system allows for quick access to payable and receivable aging for both suppliers and customers ensuring that the business end of the company matches the quality and efficiently of the building end of the company.  Project managers are given constant feedback, cost reporting, and labor analysis to ensure that every job stays on track.

Estimating

Falasca Mechanical understands the importance and power of high-tech computer software to efficiently and accurately assist in job estimating. Falasca Mechanical’s sophisticated computer system allows it to solve the complexity of each project, and our expert estimating staff translates it to apply it for our clients. Falasca Mechanical applies this approach to all of its projects, whether working on small services contracts or large corporate and public complexes. We also understand the value and importance of human touch. Thus, the company also uses the traditional pencil-to-paper approach for the more complex customized figuring required for more unique projects. It is this balance between high-tech and high sensitivity that gives Falasca Mechanical its distinctive ability to understand clients well and then serve them thoroughly.

Expert project management is a given at Falasca Mechanical. Our project managers make certain that everything needed to complete the job is on hand and on time, and they work closely with in-field supervisors and those responsible for materials and labor to assure the efficient and proper completion of each assignment. The team of project managers is led by Dave Dandrea, Mark Van Leuven, Wally Copestick, Dan Sikking, and Aldo Falasca.   Dave Dandrea, Senior Project Manager and Estimator began his career in the mechanical industry in 1968. His background includes five years of engineering study at Temple University, five years of in-field installations and numerous seminars to keep himself updated on new techniques and procedures. His extensive knowledge and experience in “Design Build” capability has earned him high marks from his clients. Mark Van Leuven, Senior Project Manager and Estimator began his career in the mechanical industry in 1973 working for a Camden based mechanical supplier. During his tenure there, projects activities included retail fit outs, hospital expansions, stadiums, casino expansions specializing in hotel towers, along with a variety of public work projects.  Aldo Falasca, a graduate of Villanova with a degree in engineering, brings more than twenty years worth of knowledge and experience.  Aldo excels in public works projects such as schools, colleges, and universities.  Aldo has worked on education facilities from Cape May County to Monmouth County striving to give both owner and Falasca Mechanical the best job possible.  Wally Copestick has been with the Falasca's for just over twenty years.  Wally puts his engineering degree to good use while applying his knowledge and experience to the numerous schools, colleges, and hospital jobs he has overseen.  Wally has completed work in every major hospital system in South Jersey including, Kennedy, Virtua, and Cooper Hospitals.

Sketching/Fabrication

Falasca Mechanical employs it's own sketching department. The sketchers primarily use AUTOCAD to design and coordinate every job Falasca Mechanical works on.  Tom Gottardi, who has been with the Falasca's for over thirty years, oversees the day to day operations in the sketching department and the fabrication shop.  Tom also spools the majority of the fabrication that goes through the shop.  Falasca Mechanical's Fabrication Shop dramatically increases the productivity and speed in which weld joints, along with all forms of pipe jointing, are put together and sent to job sites ready to be installed into place.  The shop is fully automated and can handle pipe diameters exceeding 36" in size.
